🔗 Share this article Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer It has been 30 years since the original Toy Story film was released, launching the animation giant as a leading animation studio and bringing viewers to beloved characters like Woody (the actor) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names. In 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping fans curious how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4. The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Spooks the Gang In the teaser shows the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — getting a brand new plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it. Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the toys seem to view it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it probably is. The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4 One thing the teaser avoids is why the sheriff is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and helping prize toys find good homes. Surely, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have come back with him. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)? Connections from the Last Installment Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the badge pinned to her shirt. It is hoped she is remains the driving force among the group. Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026.
