This online marketplace has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with similar services. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
