I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
